🗣 Morning Routine

Intro:

  • Today we begin working on your Foundational Morning Routine
  • Recap difference between a Routine and Habit

A Bad Morning Routine (What my Morning's were like)

  • Hitting snooze
  • Getting out of bed at the last minute
  • Sprinting around like a headless chicken trying to get ready and shovel down breakfast.
  • Parents get mad
  • Forgetting my lunch or workbook
  • Starting my days late, stressed, and on the back foot.

I learned the hard way. The goal is that you don't do the same!

Why do you need a Morning Routine?

  • It sets the tone for the rest of your day.
  • Allows you to own your mornings.
  • Start proactively and from a position of strength.
  • Productive behaviors allow you to gain Momentum.
  • Overflows into the rest of your day.

I want you to think about your morning routine in four parts:

  1. GET UP - This is often the most difficult part. The first few habits you do in the morning are crucial to starting your day well.
  2. WASH UP - Nature calls! These are your basic bathroom, hygiene, and grooming habits that need to get done in the morning.
  3. FUEL UP - The habits you need to be physically and mentally fueled for the day. "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day."
  4. READY UP - Getting organized. Reviewing your day ahead, packing your bag are all habits that you need to be ready for your day.

The goal is to build a Morning Routine that (1) gets you up, (2) gets you clean, (3) gets you fueled and (4) gets you prepared.

  • Today we're going to start with the foundational GET-UP phase of your morning routine.
  • So let's start right at the beginning of your day: Setting a wake-up alarm.

Task

✅ **TODAY'S TINY TASK:**

1️⃣ Pick a wake-up time
2️⃣ Set an alarm for your wake-up time ⏰
3️⃣ Send me a screenshot/photo of your wake-up alarm

⭐️ Tip: You can label your alarm by clicking on the word ALARM and typing in "Wake-up Alarm"

Additional

Also, while you're at it, disable Snooze Button if you can 😴

[10sec]<https://coachbit-publicassets.s3-us-west-1.amazonaws.com/coaching/morning_alarm_snooze.jpg>

[20sec]The short 5-10mins extra sleep you get in between hitting the snooze button is not restorative sleep.

You will actually end up feeling more tired as a result! 😵

Post-task

Woohoo well done {{student_name}}! 🎉

[10sec]Let's see if you can maintain the consistency for the next 5 days!

[1min]See ya {{next_work_day}} {{student_name}} 😊

[1min 15sec]Cheerio 👋

Add Wake-up time placeholder

Mail: Better mornings

Hi {{customer_name}},

Today {{student_name}} and I started working on {{pronoun_possessive}} Foundational Morning Routine. A good morning routine sets {{pronoun_objective}} up to win each day.

The morning routine is the one of four daily routines we'll build. After the foundational morning routine, we'll add foundational study, planning, and evening routines to {{student_name}}'s day.

The foundational routines consist of the basic core habits that {{student_name}} needs to create structure throughout {{pronoun_possessive}} day. Once the foundations are solid, we’ll move on to more advanced habits, one routine at a time. Each Foundational Routine will be covered one module at a time, spaced over the next four or so weeks.

Four routines might sound a bit excessive, but they will actually end up saving {{pronoun_objective}} loads of time (and stress). The routines provide the necessary structure for {{pronoun_objective}} to cope with (and even thrive in) the increasing pressure of school.

Each routine we're building will be made up of a bunch of very specific habits that we'll add one step at a time. For now, you should start noticing {{student_name}} rising at a consistent time every morning.

{{student_name}} set {{pronoun_possessive}} wake-up time as {{wakeup_time}}. Let me know if you don't think this is a realistic rising time for {{student_name}}.

Talk to you soon!
